Nandita was born in November 7, 1969 in Delhi, India. Her father Jatin Das was a painter and her mother Varsha was a writer. She attended the Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi. She acquired her bachelor’s degree in geography from Miranda house in Delhi. She did her post graduation from the Delhi school of social work.
Career
She was first spotted on screen in the hindi movie LAAWARIS (1981). The movie was directed by Prakash Mehra. The leading actors in the movie were Zeenat Aman, Vikas Anand and Amitabh Bachchan. The plot of the movie was as follows: a young boy named Heera was left in the care of an alcoholic named Gangu Ganpat. When he grew up, he worked for Mahendra Singh and was in love with Mohini. Mohini does not fall for him because of his ancestry. Heera is determined to find out who his real parents were. The only person who can help him is Gangu Ganpat.
