Well, this is surprising. It’s for the first time that one actress in Bollywood has replaced a leading actor in a movie. The film in question is none other than Vishal Bhardawaj’s SAAT KHOON MAAF. Yes, believe it or not, the lead role played by Priyanka Chopra was originally to be essayed by Hrithik Roshan.
Director Vishal Bhardawaj modified the story of Ruskin Bond’s ‘Susanna’s Seven Husbands’, on which the film is based, to accommodate a male lead. But the two couldn’t come to a mutual agreement about the plot and characters. So, Vishal didn’t waste a single moment and changed the story back to original and signed his favorite actress. Thus, Priyanka came into the picture.
Though Vishal prefers to work with females as protagonists rather than males, the box office reports feel otherwise. The equations might change if NO ONE KILLED JESSICA and SAAT KHOON MAAF turn out be a major success, which only time can tell.
