Munni and Sheila have created frenzy in the nation. The two popular hits of the year, "Sheila Ki Jawani" and "Munni Badnaam Hui' are breaking all music records of the past, and are considered to be the two most loved songs. However, not everybody is a fan of Sheila and Munni.
Social activist Nutan Thakur, on December 23rd last year, filed a petition at the Allahabad High Court asking for an immediate ban on both the songs, as she considers them to be indecent and immoral.
According to her, there is sharp increase in eve-teasing, molestation and mental harassment to women, especially those whose names are Sheila and Munni. So Nutan is demanding authorities to take some action on this front.
Some reports now suggest that the I& B ministry will be looking into the matter. The petition says that the song has certain objectionable material which violates the provisions of the Cinematography Act of 1952.
But wasn’t eve-teasing always persistent in our society? Why blame the songs and curb creativity?
